65 years and still growing!

0

This upcoming week is a special one here at Van Putte — we are celebrating 65 years in business on Tuesday, June 18!  The third generation of Van Puttes (Kyle and Holly) took over from mom and dad (Sue & Carl) this year too, and business is still growing & growing every year!

Let’s take a wander through the years and see how the family tree has grown…

Van Putte Gardens in _____.

No, this isn’t an instagram filter… Check out this old aerial photo of Van Putte Gardens in 1977 with the original store, old greenhouses and nursery growing areas.

Carl, Kyle, and Kyle's son Tyler, working hard!

Who’s in charge here?  The shortest guy is also the one with the rake and radio! (Pictured L to R in the bulk mulch area in 2005: Carl Van Putte, Kyle’s son Tyler, Kyle Van Putte.)

Grace and Bill Van Putte.

Some things never change; gardening, particularly with family, always gets a smile here 🙂  Pictured here are the founders, Grace and Bill Van Putte.

Be sure to visit us on Tuesday the 18th for extra-special sales, raffles (we are giving away several $65 gift certificates and a Gardener’s Dream Basket worth $200), free plant give-aways and more.  Van Putte Gardens started in 1948 as Van Putte Seed Co., so every customer will get a free package of anniversary seeds that day — hope to see you then!  Here’s to deep roots, new growth, and another great 65 years!
