With their staggered bloom times from spring to summer to fall, perennial flowers keep a garden interesting throughout the year. After trees and shrubs, perennials and grasses are a great way to add structure, height, and visual interest to your garden. Though perennials may have a shorter bloom time than annuals (from a few weeks to a couple of months depending on the variety), perennial foliage and grass are often interesting in their own right showing off a variety of colors, shapes, and textures.

Herbaceous perennials and grasses are appealing to both beginners and expert gardeners alike since they return year after year, and require relatively little care during the season. A bit of deadheading, perhaps some dividing and cutting back in the late fall or early spring, and an established perennial will take care of itself. Our nursery offers varieties perfect for sun, shade, and everywhere in between, and we are happy to suggest perennials with a variety of characteristics: deer resistance, butterfly and bird attraction, different seasonal bloom times, fragrance, and stunning cut flowers.
