The W.E.V.P. Horticulture Scholarship program was established in 1994 in honor of Willard E. Van Putte, the founder of Van Putte Gardens. 

In commemoration, Van Putte Gardens proudly offers an annual scholarship award of $500 to a graduating local high school senior who demonstrates excellence in academics and community involvement, and who is planning a future career in horticulture or its related fields.

Application Criteria:

  • Student must be a Greece Central High School Senior
  • Student must be accepted into a college program of study in horticulture, conservation, forestry, landscape design, garden center management, or a related field
  • Student must maintain a senior-year grade point average of at least 2.5 GPA

Applicants must submit the following below:

  • Completed Application Form
  • Copies of 12th-grade report card for 1st and 2nd quarters
  • Written recommendation from a faculty member
  • An autobiographical essay of at least 200 words about yourself, your family, your future goals, and why you want to pursue a career in horticulture or a related field.
  • Current resume (optional)

DEADLINE:
