A yearly spring problem that virtually everyone has is an explosion of moss and other like weeds in lawns, ornamental beds, flower and vegetable gardens. This is due to the previous years above average precipitation. The reports of a moss invasion were everywhere last year so you know it will be bad this spring!

Now is the time to identify areas where you know mosses, liverworts, hornworts, and lichens will appear and treat those areas with products designed specifically to eliminate them. They’ll contain either granular Ferrous Sulfate, great for lawns, or Potassium Salts of Fatty Acids in a “Ready to Use Spray.”

Both formulations are safe to use on and around most plants. They contain natural ingredients that will safely and effectively kill mosses, lichens, algae, liverworts, green slime, and mildew on lawns, hardened bark of trees, garden beds and the like. We carry another excellent product which is designed for use on hard surfaces like roofs, driveways, walkways, fences, and walls. Stop by and a Green Thumb staff member will be happy to show you the best product for your specific need to prevent an exposition of moss in your yard this spring!
