Planting for Pollinators Garden Talk – $5

June 10, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Reservations and pre-payment are required by registering online here, or contacting us at (585) 225-7770. Our workshops do fill-up so be sure to secure your spot today!

We are celebrating National Garden Week with this interactive talk on how to turn your garden into a beautiful, functional and welcoming space for pollinators of all kinds.  We will start by discussing all the different pollinators that may visit your garden, from the smallest insects such as butterflies and bees, all the way up to larger visitors like birds.

We will discuss the benefits of pollinators in your yard, why attracting specific pollinators is important, and what plants to add to your garden to encourage pollinator visits throughout the growing season.  Even the smallest garden can be beneficial – let us show you how!

This class will be taught by Jenna Holzschuh.  Jenna has a Master’s degree in Environmental Science & Biology, with a concentration in Terrestrial & Avian Ecology, and volunteers with the songbird division at Braddock Bay Bird Observatory in her spare time.

All attendees will go home with a Rochester-specific handout on pollinator-friendly plant options and wildlife gardening tips.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • All participants will receive a $5 voucher at this event to use on anything in the nursery or garden center (expires 6/10/23).
  • This class is subject to cancelation if a minimum attendance is not met. If this occurs, refunds will be issued.
  • This class is held outdoors and fluctuation in temperature does occur. We recommend wearing layers.
